An Airborne Captive Seeker with Real-Time Analysis Capability

چکیده
The development of modern air defense missile systems requires robust simulations to adequately place margins on hardware and software design. Coupled with this is the need to accurately model surface reflections that constitute clutter to the missile system. A thorough understanding of these reflections is becoming increasingly important as the air defense threat evolves from large, high-altitude aircraft into small seaor landskimming aircraft, making the radar echo difficult to detect in the resulting surface clutter. The Applied Physics Laboratory has developed an airborne captive seeker, carried by a specially instrumented aircraft, that incorporates production Standard Missile system hardware to collect surface scattering data for clutter model development. The Captive Seeker System has a significant spectral processing capability that allows the received signals to be analyzed while still in the air. It has been used on various missile and radar programs over the last decade and is continually being upgraded to maintain its utility to missile system design at APL. (

Airborne Seeker Application in Three Dimensional Formation Flight of UAVs
This paper deals with the leader-follower formation control problem while communication constraint in data transmitting is considered. From a practical point of view, we study the case in which unmanned vehicles are subject to the limited sensing, and communication is of a particular interest. A three-dimensional formation flight of multi-unmanned aerial vehicles with leader-follower configurat...

Risk preference, the degree of tendency to take risk, has a fundamental role at individual and social health and is divided to risk seeker and risk averse. Therefore, the study of neural corelates of risk preferences is essential at the field of psychology and psychiatry. The current study aimed to examine and compare an ERP component named P300 between subjects with different risk preferences....
متن کاملReal-time airborne radiation analysis and collection (RTARAC) searching for airborne species characteristic to nuclear proliferation
An effective means of detecting airborne radioactive aerosol plumes has been developed and tested on aircraft platforms. The Real-Time Airborne Radiation Analysis and Collection (RTARAC) system was mounted in the wing pod of a Navy P-3 where it sampled 20 cubic meters of air per minute on each of eleven sequentially advanced filters. A 140% intrinsic germanium detector counted radioactive parti...
